Sometimes it’s not the first step that matters most – but the one where you feel deep inside: now is the time.
For Christian Schwab, that moment came in Sion, where he finally achieved a goal that had accompanied him for decades: earning his 1st Dan in Taekwondo.
But that milestone didn’t mark the end – in fact, it was only the beginning of real training.
A path of detours and rediscovery
Christian began Taekwondo in 1990, seeking confidence more than competition. Over the years, he trained in cities like Munich, Abu Dhabi, Lausanne and Geneva – with passion at times, with hesitation at others, but always with a connection to Taekwondo.
The art never fully disappeared from his life – it kept returning. Until one day, the pieces finally fell into place.
Sion – Where it all made sense
At Master-Taekwondo in Sion, Christian discovered a truly holistic approach to training – one that doesn’t separate, but integrates all disciplines: Poomsae, sparring (Gyeorugi), self-defense (Hosinsool), breaking techniques (Kyokpa) – and most importantly, personal growth.
With the guidance of his coach Hansjörg, Christian found the clarity and structure to fully commit – and succeeded in earning his 1st Dan: a symbol of perseverance, commitment and transformation.
A new beginning
For Christian, the black belt is not a destination – it’s a starting point.
“I’ve learned that Taekwondo doesn’t end with the Dan – that’s when the real journey begins.”
At Master-Taekwondo, he found more than a training hall – he found a space for development, purpose, and community.
A journey that never ends
Christian’s story shows that it’s never too late – as long as you find the right moment, the right place, and the right guidance.
Today, his journey continues with greater clarity than ever.
And we’re proud to walk alongside him.
